The Picnic Box BOI – Shipping Policy

At The Picnic Box BOI, our products are freshly prepared and designed for local pickup or delivery within the Bay of Islands area. Because we work with perishable foods, all handling, delivery, and pickup processes are structured to maintain the highest food-safety standards.


1. Delivery Areas

We currently offer delivery to selected locations within the Bay of Islands, including (but not limited to):

  • Paihia

  • Opua

  • Waitangi

  • Russell (when arranged in advance and logistically possible)

If your location falls outside these areas, please contact us to see if special arrangements can be made.


2. Delivery Times

Delivery times are arranged at checkout or when booking directly with us.
Please ensure someone is available to receive the order at the agreed time.

Because we handle fresh food, we cannot leave orders unattended unless explicitly approved by you in advance - and only if the location is safe for food drop-off.


3. Delivery Fees

Delivery fees, if applicable, will be displayed at checkout.
Pricing may vary based on:

  • Distance from our base

  • Seasonal demand

  • Special or large orders

Any additional delivery or coordination costs will be discussed before confirming your order.


4. Pickup Policy

Pickup is available from the location provided in your order confirmation.
Please arrive at the agreed time to ensure your food remains fresh and safe.

We cannot guarantee product quality if pickup is significantly delayed.


5. Handling Responsibility

Once the order has been delivered or picked up, responsibility for storing and handling the food safely transfers to the customer.

We recommend refrigerating or consuming items promptly according to safe food guidelines.


6. Delivery Delays

While we do our best to deliver on time, delays may occur due to:

  • Weather conditions

  • Busy wharf traffic

  • Seasonal congestion

  • Events or road closures

If a delay is expected, we will contact you as soon as possible.


7. Incorrect or Incomplete Delivery Information

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery details.
We cannot refund or replace orders if delivery fails due to:

  • Incorrect address

  • Inaccessible delivery location

  • No one available to receive the food (unless prior arrangements were made)


8. No Shipping Outside Local Area

We do not courier, ship, or post picnic boxes, platters, or BBQ boxes anywhere within NZ.
All orders are strictly local pickup or local delivery only due to food safety requirements.


9. Issues With Delivery

If there is a delivery-related issue, please notify us within 12 hours so we can investigate and assist.
